A Threat to World Peace

I personally feel we need to finish what we started

I would wonder, exactly what does this mean? We started a war, we finished the war. There were no weapons, no Al Qada (sp) connection, no imminent threat. What needs to be finished?

What do you want the government to do now? Well, let's see. How about we turn the mess we created over to the UN who now has a good background of successful "nation building." That would bring aid and assistance in from countries all around the world. Troops would be international, aid would be international and financial support would be international.

We wouldn't be there now if we hadn't pulled out of the Gulf war too soon.

Well, actually we stayed just a little late. Gulf war One was fought under a UN mandate. The sole purpose was to remove the Iraqi army from Kuwait.

Because you might not know, and probably don't care to this degree let's review the entire matter from the real beginning.

In the late 1940s or early 50's we (the US) put together a new agency. Eisenhower was very cautious about it, but eventually agreed that a Central Intelligence Agency could be good. While I may not have the name correct, the new CIA was run by two brothers, Walker I think.

Well, to see how effective the agency could be they chose as the first mission the overthrow of the King of Persia (Iran) This seemed a good idea because the King refused to sell oil to the US at bargain prices. The effort was successful and we installed the Shaw.(sp)

Cheap oil flowed so we couldn't care less how brutal the Shaw was. But after 30 years the Iranians had enough and as you recall over through the Shaw and brought the Ayatollah Homaini (sp) out of exile. Well, the Ayatollah kicked us out and shut off the spigot.

If you recall, the effect was swift. Fuel prices shot up like a missile. Washington didn't see the Iranian revolution coming and needed a new plan. The plan was to "buddy" up to a puny, little, unknown dictator in Iraq by the name of Sadaam Hussein. Get him in a war with his neighbor Iran to overthrow Homaini (sp) and get cheap oil flowing again. Thus began the Iran/Iraq war that went on for years with neither side making any progress.

About 3 years into that conflict a fellow by the name of Donald Rumsfeld who was with the State Department visited Hussein. We wanted victory, so Mr. Rumsfeld gave Sadaam chemical and biological weapons. But not being sure who was going to win, we were also giving weapons to Iran in the clandestine program called the Iran/Contra affair...(Oliver North and all)

Well, the illegal weapons we gave Iraq were effective enough to get the Iranian army to withdraw back into Iran and a truce was called. The Ayatollah remained leader and the spigot remained shut off.

Years later Sadaam told American delegates that he could get them the oil the
y wanted and needed. He would invade Kuwait and then sell the oil to us cheap. A quick invasion and it would be over. Rumor has it that there was a kind of "wink and nod" agreement from us. So knowing he had the US if not at his side not working against him, he invaded.

The government of Kuwait went to the UN and asked for help that was granted. But, American citizens weren't too thrilled with the plan, until... A young woman who was said to have recently escaped Kuwait testified before Congress. With an abundance of flowing tears she told of atrocities being committed by the Iraqi Army. She repeated her story at the UN. With that, the war was on. (Later, it was realized that the young woman was actually the Kuwaiti ambassador's daughter who hadn't been in the countryof Kuwait for over 5 years.)

Sadaam didn't believe that we would attack him because we had a kinda sorta deal. He quickly learned of his miscalculation. Bombs reined down on Baghdad and on his invading Army, (Only 6% were smart bombs the remainder were rather random) and it didn't take long to see he was beaten. So, on the last possible day, the Iraqi radio announced that they would retreat from Kuwait and formed up to do so. White flags were all over the vehicles as they charged back to the Iraqi border.

But just as they approached that border, we pounced on the retreating Army. Navy aircraft destroyed the front line vehicles successfully blocking the way into Iraq, then the rear to insure that a retreat back into Kuwait was impossible. Then during the next 12 hours we massacred everything in between. A clear violation of the Geneva Accords and the UN mandate. So clear in fact that GHW Bush the first, has been charged with war crimes and for that reason we are the only country on planet earth who has refused to be part of the World Court.

Kuwait didn't have sufficient reserves of oil and were not completely "playing" by our rules. Sure, they now have MacDonalds and Wal Marts, but not sufficient cheap oil. What to do? Invade the country that is now said to have the largest oil reserves on the planet. And the rest is, as they say...history.

Obviously, Iraq didn't have chemical, biological or nuclear weapons nor a program to produce them. They were hardly an imminent threat to us, they couldn't defend themselves. No Al Quadi (sp) connection. Palestinians were not taking order from Sadaam. Not a safe haven for terrorists...no training camps, AND WE KNEW IT! The CIA and State Department's NIS reported this time and time again. Additionally, they suggested that we would be seen for what we are, an invading army and the Iraqis would do whatever they could to drive us out as they did to the English after their 1920 invasion. Even more, the NIS stated that Iraq was not in a position and probably wouldn't be for decades to become a democracy.

But there is more.....The appointed "President" of Iraq is a fellow named Chalabe (sp). He left Iraq with his family in the 1950's and has lived in the United Kingdom since. He was an investment banker who was found guilty (in abstencia) by Jordan for bank fraud.

Challabe was the "mystery" player who was bringing "evidence" to Washington of all those terrible weapons.

The plot thickens...Years ago, Challabe attended some classes at the University of Chicago (?) now some of these names might not be correct. One class was taught by a Professor Stein(?) He had been a Holocaust survivor as a child and created a complex theory about governments that might possibly be dangerous. Also attending that class was Paul Wolfowitz and I think two other senior members of this Administration. So Challabe knew people in the highest levels of the US government and wanted to be President of Iraq. Sounds like that part of the plan is working out fine for him.

But the Iraqis are not about to give an invading army cheap oil. And at this point, most Arabs recognize what we have been doing to them, and obviously they are not too damn happy about it. Not simply stealing the oil, but getting them to kill each other while we "played both sides against the middle."

And, sadly it is no longer simply the Arab nations. Europeans see us a one of the most serious threats to world peace. South and Cental Americans are disposing of government officials who pander to us.

There it is...Do the homework that I have done to prove to yourself that my information is correct. Sadly we are again or still at the place found in a "Pogo" cartoon of the 1980's. One frame (referring to the war in Vietnam) said. "We have found the enemy, and it is us." May God forgive us?

How did we get into this mess? Check it out. Sorry, 50 years of history can't be put into a tiny package.
